Real Madrid fans can sit back this summer and enjoy the World Cup in the knowledge that La Decima is finally theirs.
But while they are the kings of Europe you still feel there is room for improvement in this Real Madrid side.
Xabi Alonso is coming to the end of his career and new blood is needed in the heart of the midfield.
Isco will hopefully stake an even bigger claim to the starting XI next season but Real Madrid could well invest more in that area of the park.
If you are looking at the world’s current top midfielders then Paul Pogba would come into the thinking of many a man in France and Italy. You could say with confidence that Pogba would add dynamism and daring to the Real Madrid midfield. And in the last few days France teammate Karim Benzema has been talking up a move for the youngster. Marca reported:
Karim Benzema also backed Pogba’s possible move to ‘Los Blancos’: “He’s a young player who plays for a great European club. He is improving game upon game and is in amazing form. He has to keep working hard. I’d love him to join Real Madrid because he’s French and the move could turn him into a world-class footballer.
In March Carlo Ancelotti talked in glowing terms and suggested that Real Madrid may be interested in a move for the player:
Referring to Pogba, Ancelotti told RMC Sport: “He’s a great player. He’s doing a very good job at a great club. He’s a very complete midfielder.
“Sign him? Why not. He’s one of the best young midfielders alongside (Marco) Verratti and Isco.”
But, as one of Europe’s hot properties right now, he would not come cheap by any means. That’s never bothered Real Madrid though has it?
In today’s market he could cost anywhere between 40-60m Euros which represents a bit of a gamble for a colt. But, at 21 years of age, this guy has his whole career ahead of him and looks to be improving almost by the week.
He scores spectacular goals and is a real dynamo in the midfield with composure and a great final ball.
It’s hard to imagine him not being a big success at Real Madrid. Let’s see him in action. Real Madrid fans: would you be happy if Pogba was your main summer signing?
