Roberto Martinez doesn’t seem too concerned about buying defenders this summer.
If reports are to be believed the Everton manager is mainly looking at creative and attacking targets – all power to the man!
Perhaps Everton may go all out attack next season. Of course Everton already have an excellent defence and you would imagine that much of the focus in the transfer window will be on the forward areas anyway.
Lots of wingers have been linked but Everton will clearly need to address a rather threadbare striker force, particularly if Romelu Lukaku bids farewell.
Step forward Wilfried Bony. The Ivory Coast international has been linked by various reports to Everton over the last month or so and would be a super signing for the cub. He’s got the sort of pace and technique that, we think, would see him slot into the Everton system almost seamlessly.
Having survived an uncomfortable season in The Premier League Swansea will hope to hold onto a player who, along with Jonjo Shelvey, was a star performer for his club this season. He certainly looks like a forward who should be battling at the top of The Premier League rather than the bottom.
He’s got great feet, a good engine and has no problems in the scoring department – 25 goals in 48 games in all competitions this season proves his worth. Bony is a poacher, a proactive opportunist and a good all-rounder.
Skybet now have Everton as favourites to sign the player before the end of the summer transfer window at odds of 11/2.
He certainly seems like a gettable target and one that would surely complement the squad with or without Romelu Lukaku.
Let’s see him in action. Everton fans – tell us what’s not to like?
