Everton: A transfer link to get very excited about

Definitely worth a punt

Ever since Roberto Martinez joined Everton there has been regular speculation about wingers joining the club. Aiden McGeady has arrived, of course, and Gerard Deulofeu can also do a great job out wide.

But soccersweep believes that Martinez will further swell the ranks of wide men this summer at Everton to make his team even more pacey and potent on the counter-attack.

If Everton can snare Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa, who has been linked to the club today, they will have absolutely flipped the nuts.

As we know the talented Frenchman hasn’t had much of a look in at Newcastle this season. While few would argue the talent of the lad he just doesn’t seem to have thrived in the system that Alan Pardew likes to play. He’s an excellent player in the wrong place at the wrong time.

At Everton Ben Arfa could become one of the best players in The Premier League under the tutelage of the Spaniard. He’s quick, has superb feet and the sort of mercurial, unpredictable style which can get bums off seats.

We think it would be a real shame if he left The Premier League because he’s a player worth watching and someone who could be a sensation at a club like Everton where attacking play is so encouraged these days.

The Guardian reckons that Everton could be in for him this summer:

Anyway, Ben Arfa. Apparently many managers, including ones at Everton, Monaco and Besiktas, are convinced that they could be the ones to get inside his head and really inspire him to harness his talent on a consistent basis.

At 27 he’s got experience but still has lead in the pencil. Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Everton fans: no-brainer?

Like the idea of Ben Arfa; suspect he needs RM’s relentless positivity to build him, not dour and dull AP.
Yes, he would get bums off seats, but more to the point, he’d get the bums on the seats in the first place!
