How do you go about improving the bewitching array of talent at Liverpool right now? Well the answer is simple. You just keep adding to it.
The quartet of Sturridge, Sterling, Suarez and Coutinho has been unstoppable in the second half of the season – they have that perfect blend of speed, daring, skill and power.
But Liverpool’s omission from Europe this season has undoubtedly been a positive factor in their resurgence. Their key players have largely been fit at key times.
And beyond those four Liverpool don’t have a huge amount to call on. Victor Moses is an able understudy but Liverpool will surely need to add strength in depth for next season and The Champions League.
A player who has again been linked this week is Christian Tello of Barcelona. The Guardian reported Wednesday:
Elsewhere, Liverpool are looking to sign speedy Barcelona winger Christian Tello as quickly as possible
We think Tello would fit in perfectly with the Liverpool template under Brendan Rodgers.
He’s really fast and mobile, technically brilliant and adaptable to the point that he could play anywhere across the front line or in the midfield.
He’s seemingly not getting the game time he wants at Barcelona – although he’s appeared in 27 games and scored 5 goals this season – but they might be less willing to sell him considering their recent transfer ban.
But, if Liverpool could get him, it’s hard to imagine him not being a success at the club.
He’s got a point to prove after being left out in the cold, to a degree, at Barcelona and the speed and physicality of the Premier League can only improve him as a player.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Liverpool fans – keen?
