Manchester United: Who’s next? Woodward attempting to complete deal for midfield powerhouse according to reports

If David Moyes does get another season at the club he simply has to impress. No more transitional seasons. And he may spend more money this summer than Sir Fergie ever did in one window in order to get it right.

If the speculation is to be believed Moyes wants every midfielder this side of Siberia. He may also look for wingers and a centre back. With the Luke Shaw deal looking possible Manchester United will press on with midfield acquisitions.

The Daily Mail today opines that Manchester United are closing in on a young prodigy from that list:

Woodward is also working hard to finalise a big-money move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

Sportsmail revealed last month that United had opened negotiations with the Portuguese club for the 21-year-old and they have since been talking to Sporting about finding a way round a £37m buy-out clause that they believe to be excessive.

Talksport reckons that a deal is already done.

Manchester United have agreed a stunning deal to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

We think that Carvalho would be an excellent addition to the side. He’s quick, athletic and has lovely feet for a big guy.Yes, that old chestnut.

Carvalho’s passing is majestic and he plays the game with a sort of aloof, almost sleepy composure – he knows he’s good. Perhaps Yaya Toure good one day.

We thick he’d be a good buy but Moyes must try to get that price down as few of that age can be worth the £37m that is apparently wanted by the seller.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans – keen?

  1. CARVALHO- But what a pity? This player is not yet secured because of reducing the signing fee !!!!!!!
It is ridiculous, for FELLAINI(flop) Moyes paid 30 million.
    Misery-monger UTD dealer

  2. buy dat powerhouse carvalho and tonny kroos as a passer plus shaw as a left back n one cb whether mangala or garay our team will be good

  3. Is good if it is but for garay, he is soft for premierleague so am sure mangala would be am idea signing alongside coentrao, kroos/reus,grietmann, martinez

  4. Moyes was given a champion and turn them to mid table while martinez was given a mid table and turn them to top 4 contender, moyes out, he is not fit for a big club like man united.
