Chelsea, like Manchester United, have a team of ageing titans. Players like Frank Lampard Ashley Cole and John Terry are been indelibly etched into the history of the club and The Premier League.
And of course the biggest problem for any team like this is replacing their legends. Chelsea have already signed Nemanja Matic and he looks to be settling in beautifully.
But, in defence, Chelsea are going to need an overhaul with Terry and Cole on their way out before too long. The club has been linked this week with a young rock called Stones. The Mail reckons:
Chelsea have joined the race for Everton defender John Stones but will face a difficult task prising him away.
The youngster has really impressed since making a name for himself in the team this season and looked equally solid at centre back (his preferred position) or on the right side.
He does look nailed on as a future England regular even at his tender age.
But we do think that The Toffess will manage to hold on to their top players this summer. Even if they don’t quality for The Champions League Roberto Martinez has made it a very exciting place to be.
Let’s take a look at Stones in action. Chelsea fans – could this guy eventually fill the almighty boots of John Terry?
