Arsenal manager to spend in excess of €80 million to sign 246 goal duo from La Liga according to report

Arsenal to spend

Even though Arsene Wenger has kept the team competitive, during an extremely difficult transition for the club, it’s been far too long for Arsenal without a trophy.

Now the Emirates is built and Arsenal keep selling off properties at a rate of knots it’s surely time for Arsene to splurge a huge portion of cash on a couple of players. Top players who can make a difference for Arsenal in the big games – not just players can beat mid-table opposition in unattractive manner.

The Guardian reports today that Arsenal are lining up a move for Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria in what would amount to a serious statement of intent for the club this summer:

Arsenal are planning to send another dumpster full of cash to the Bernabéu, as they prepare a £70m bid for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who is a striker they could probably do with, and Ángel di María, who is a tricky wide midfield playmaker they could probably do without.

Although last season’s summer signing from Real Madrid hasn’t proven to be an unbridled success Ozil is still a top quality player who has improved the Arsenal squad.

These two are exactly the same ilk and while Benzema continues to form a potent strikeforce in Spain we think that Real Madrid may try to sign another main man in the summer. They have long been linked with Luis Suarez for one.

A player of that profile would not be sitting on the bench for too long so Arsenal may well have a chance to get him.

As for Di Maria we have appreciated him more over time.In our opinion, he used to go down too easily and had insufficient end product – much like Manchester United winger Nani. Brilliant but inconsistent.

But he has matured into a really fine player and Real Madrid might well want to hold onto him beyond the summer after a decent season.

Let’s have a look at Di Maria. CLICK FOR ANGEL.

it would not surprise me ,but i would like to see lukaku and griezman just as good but will be a whole lot cheaper!add them mich richards and fazio with camacho in midfield and maybe draxler,we of set these buys with the sale of vermaelen-arteta-monreal-diarby-podolski-miyaichi and even wilshere and giroud are not safe!and lets not forget the four who would love to play for arsenal drmic-aurier-belhanda-casillas(on a free) i think this will help save us next season!

I would honestly prefer DiMaria to Benzema. Not that Arsenal don’t need a striker more than a winger. They absolutely do. But. Benzema is a little too Giroud-like for me. I think Giroud has been good for Arsenal. He’ll probably score 20+ goals in all competitions, a quality output, but I would not rate him ‘world class’.

My preference for strikers is Bayern’s Mandzukic and Morata; with either Drmic and Arsenal loanee Campbell coming back into the team to give the side four legitimate strikers (I would loan out Sanogo. He shows promise but he’s not ready).

Di Maria on the other hand is quality. He scores, crosses, and most importantly, plays from wide areas. On a team that wants to push everythign up the middle, width would be nice. DiMaria is also cover forsould Walcott take time to return to form. I’d like Draxler and/or Griezmann as well.

Arsenal play 60 games a season, plus exhibtions and most of their players are on their national teams as well. That is a lot of wear and tear. They need a big squad to keep players fresh. Arsenal need to be two deep at every position.

either benzema or mandzukic would suit arsenal. But if wenger could sign both of them its terrific. He should also make a move for a winger. Angel di maria is perfect choice. I hope gunners have a good summer transfer
