Whatever your thoughts about Manchester United this season most seem to agree that the team has lacked the sort of raw pace that the side has always profited from in The Premier League years.
So perhaps ‘The Vespa’ will come to the rescue?
Not the most fearsome nickname in the world but that’s the tag given to the Colombian international Juan Cuadrado. It was given to him by Fiorentina team mate Luca Toni presumably for his ability to navigate his way through tight obstacles at a decent rate of knots.
Cuadrado is certainly a player of pace and he’s been a real star of Serie A for the last 18 months. Talksport reports that Manchester United sent scouts to see the lad in action and may compete with Arsenal for his signature in the summer.
Manchester United could rival Arsenal for the signature of Juan Cuadrado after sending scouts to keep an eye on the Fiorentina winger earlier this month.
Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the Colombia international, 25, who has scored six goals and set up three in 26 Serie A outings this season.
Cuadrado has scored 9 goals in 36 games this season for Fiorentina since joining them permanently after a successful loan spell last year.
He’s also got 27 games under his belt for the Colombian national side and he seems to command more attention by the month, with the report also suggesting that Bayern and Barcelona, no less, have also shown an interest.
With Tony V perhaps on the wane and Ashley Young and Nani just not up to scratch Manchester United will surely be improving their right side in the summer. Perhaps this guy is the answer.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Manchester United fans – do you like the look of Cuadrado?
