There isn’t a huge amount riding on this game for Manchester United in terms of The Premier League. For Manchester City it’s a massive game in their pursuit of a second title in three years.
But pride is at stake for both. Manchester United will certainly not be taking this game lightly – their reputation has taken an absolute battering over the last few months with many forecasting the end of the two decade empire created by Sir Alex Ferguson.
David Moyes is clearly trying hard. But will alone won’t bring success.
Because whilst Manchester City are still struggling to find their feet in The Champions League they have become masters on the domestic front. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has every right to call Manchester City the favourites for the title because their squad is replete with class.
Manchester United won’t face too many sterner tests this season and we look forward to a humdinger of a game.
