Manchester United’s tim sunder David Moyes could be symbolised by his struggle to sign a left back. The high profile failure in the transfer pursuit of Leighton Baines not only left him red-faced but also seemingly put the existing left-back’s nose out of joint.
Perhaps it worked out in the end as Patrice Evra has improved from a shaky start to once more be one Manchester United’s top performers.
But, reports today suggest that David Moyes will finally be able to sign one of his targets if he so wishes. The Metro reports:
Manchester United are set to be offered a summer deal by Real Madrid for full-back Fabio Coentrao, according to reports.
David Moyes made a late move for the left-back during last summer’s transfer window, but his advances were rebuffed by Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The reason that the original deal fell through, in the dieting hours of the summer window, was apparently due to the fact that Real Madrid couldn’t get a replacement in time. But with Manchester United seemingly not so keen to sign the Portuguese in the winter window you would have to ask whether they still want him.
Perhaps they are having some luck in their pursuit of Luke Shaw. If the brilliant youngster did sign for Manchester United then you would imagine the club would have no need for Coentrao and instead attempt to keep Patrice Evra at the club for another year.
We would imagine that this would be the best case scenario for Manchester United. So perhaps this deal will never be concluded.
Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans – Coentrao or Shaw?

“Patrice Evra has improved from a shaky start to once more be one Manchester United’s top performers.” i cant believe this sentence exists,he has been a hindrance for the last 3 season, totally incapable of defending, just because he pops up with a goal or assist doesn’t cut it at the top level, terrible reporting

really clever answer but tell me how many years have united been linked to left backs,3/4 years now, probably would of got baines instead of buttner had it not been for the availability of RVP a couple of seasons ago,but some people just see goals, allot more to the game
