Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is like a kid in a sweet shop with loads of money and no parents about to monitor him when he thinks about creative midfielders. He blooming loves them. Not happy with the sensational array of midfield talent at the club, he keeps getting linked to more.
The Metro has today weighed with quotes from a player who Arsenal have reportedly been tracking for months. Given the nickname ‘ZZ’ by a former coach who once said of him,
“However much pressure he’s under he’s got that ability to get out of a tight situation, and Zidane is probably the best there’s ever been for doing that.”
Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin says he is ready to play for a ‘great club’ and is refusing to rule out joining Arsenal.
One of them, Arsenal, are known to have been tracking him for months, and amid growing talk that Arsene Wenger is ready to lodge a summer bid for the 24-year-old, he is openly talking up the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
‘Arsenal? I have a three year contract, so it will not be easy. It’s my dream to one day play at a great club though – so why not?’
The midfielder, who may yet play for England, has yet to play for France as a full international, hence the England option, but he has represented his country off birth at every youth international level.
He signed for Southampton from Strasbourg in 2008 and has since gone on to make over 200 appearances for the club. Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans, it this just one midfielder too many or do you need someone else for the engine room?
