It’s that eternal conundrum which Arsene Wenger doesn’t see to want to answer any time soon. How good would Arsenal be with a really dynamic striker up front?
Arsenal have got to a good level again this season and are still in with a shout of The Premier League title. But they seem to keep hitting algass ceiling when they come up against top opposition. A player who can nick a goal in a tight scrappy game when there si nothing to choose between the sides.
Arsenal may be a defender or two light but this is the area that needs most attention. We like Olivier Giroud and he has had a great season – he’s a convincing finisher. But he is that sort of live wire that Arsenal needs.
Many are hoping that Arsenal go for a big money striker signing in the summer. But one name which keeps popping up is that of Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi. The 20 year old has been on fire for his current club scoring 36 goal sin 87 games. He also scored 5 in 12 for the Belgium U21 side.
He’s quick, mobile and gets in your face – potentially the sort of player who could make difference for Arsenal. He is quoted as saying earlier:
‘Unfortunately I do not think I’ll stay [at Standard past the summer],’
‘I am interested in the German and English championships. They are physical and technical championships.
‘Personally, I like Arsenal. There is a good philosophy at the club where trust is given to young players. This is a very technical team playing good football, and since I was little this was a team who I liked.’
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans – is this just another young hopeful or could he do damage immediately?

We do not need him. Diego Costa or Mandzukic is the answer to arsenal’s problem.
