Two top talents linked to Arsenal

If Arsenal showed us anything on Sunday, in their clash with Tottenham, it is that they have perhaps progressed after all this season.

The result against Bayern left many believing that Arsenal remained in stasis as a club – unable to move forward to the next level of excellence. Trapped in the category of very good team who don’t win too much.

But the determined defeat of Spurs shows us that Arsenal have more mettle than some might think. It was a great result which keeps them very much in the title hunt.

Investment is definitely needed however and Arsenal have been linked with two excellent players in the latest news cycle. The Guardian reports that the latest striker to be linked to Arsenal is a Bundesliga star:

Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic is a Rumour Mill regular and is back here again being mentioned in conjunction with prospective switches to Juventus, Real Madrid or Arsenal. The Croatian striker is believed to have a £25m buy-out clause in his contract,

At 27, the 6ft 2in striker is on top of his game. He’s scored at a stupendous rate throughout his career, including 45 in 76 games for Munchen. He has represented Croatia 48 times, scoring 13 goals.

The same source states that Arsenal have been scouting another star form the German league:

Arsenal are in pole position in the race to sign German centre-half Matthias Ginter. The Mirror reports that Arsène Wenger sent his chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the 20-year-old play in Freiburg’s 4-1 away win against Eintracht Frankfurt yesterday.

Ginter has already played 59 times for Freiburg, despite his tender age. He has also represented Germany at every youth level. He’s a player who looks ready for first team action right now.

Let’s tale a look at Mandzukic in action.
