Who wouldn’t be keen on The New Messi? Of course any player with such a tag is going to derive a huge amount of interest. And it’s not just Chelsea who are said to be keen. Arsenal are also said to be ‘paying attention’ the maestro and Liverpool have long been linked.
The player to whom we are referring is of course Juan Iturbe. He’s currently on loan to Italian side Verona from Porto. And it’s in Italy where he has really started to make waves. The 20 year old is Argentinian and only 5ft 6in which had lead many to liken him to the legend that is Leo Messi.
But it’s not just the physical appearance which is similar. Iturbe is also a winger of some majesty. He dribbles with the ball seemingly stuck to his feet and loves to cut in for the goal or two – he’s scored 5 from wide positions in just 22 league teams for Verona.
(Iturbe)The small, Argentinian winger, known as “the new Messi” on account of his small, Argentinian wingerness and the lazy human refusal to appreciate things on their own merits, is currently on loan at Verona, for whom he has five goals and two assists. This makes him “a consistent performer”, apparently, and though Verona have an option to buy him in the summer, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are also paying attention.
With the World Cup just around the corner you would imagine that teams like Arsenal and Chelsea would want to snap him up quickly, before his value soars. But, such is the quality in the Argentina squad, that Iturbe hasn’t yet turned out for the seniors. He’s played 10 times for the U20s scoring 5 goals. But with Iturbe’s star rising at a very quick rate he could easily still make the squad for Brazil.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has a very clear strategy with his terms which involves a sour defence, two defensive midfielders and a coupe of really mobile attacking men to play wide in a three – players like Hazard and Willian. Iturbe definitely fits into this category and he would surely get Chelsea fans out of their seats a la Hazard.
Let’s take a look at the little legend in action. Chelsea and Arsenal fans – could you fit him in straight away?

I pray chelsea won’t get the dude because we (chelsea) are fun of wasting money on young player without encouraging them to display their talent by loaning them out without looking after them.
