The next few weeks will define Manchester United’s season at home and abroad. But, ever since September, we have felt a sense of negativity around the club – a feeling that the United will end the campaign empty handed.
Despite this sense of doom Manchester United do, of course, have plenty to play for. The are still in the best club competition in the world for goodness sake. And it’s not as if they don’t have the players to succeed at this level. Only last season Manchester United looked as if they would defeat Real Madrid and get close to the final. But for the Nani sending off it could well have happened.
So Manchester United need to knuckle down and keep winning – one game at a time. But, whatever ever happens between now and may, you feel that Manchester United will be spending like never before in the summer. We believe that, in terms of potentially available targets, that these three would be at the top of the list for David Moyes.
Toni Kroos – Much has been said about his potential transfer to Manchester United and we think that he could make a vast difference to the team. This is a genuine goal scoring midfielder of the highest quality. But he won’t just sit behind the strikers waiting for scraps. Kroos is central to everything in the midfield. He can tackle, work his socks off to help out the defence and has a superb range of passing. We think that Manchester United would be very lucky indeed to get him as comparatively cheap as the £25m being reported. He has to be the number one target.
William Carvalho – Manchester United won’t be the only interested party where comes to this Sporting Lisbon star. At 21 years of age he already has fantastic composure and knits the midfield together wonderfully, from in front of the defence. He’s got a super engine and provides a great shield for the back 5 but also passes the ball beautifully. He’s a one touch magician. Will reportedly cost around £30m.
Ross Barkley – Manchester United were linked with this young superstar even before David Moyes joined the club. He could well prove the most difficult to sign of the lot and some have priced him at £50m. while we don’t think it would cost that much to sign him Everton manager Roberto Martinez will fight tooth and nail to hold onto a player who could become one of the stars of the Premier league in the next few years. What is for sure is that he would immeasurably improve Manchester United.
Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans – would these be your top midfield targets for the summer market?

We will count ourself lucky if we get either Kroos or Carvalho. We still have the existing guys to use in Man U and they will combine well with the existing squad,…hopefully…

We’ll get a rediculously over priced and over rated Ross Barkley. No chance of getting the other 2 or any Dortmund players.
