If reports are to be believed, Manchester United will be signing over one hundred players this summer. Oh to have a crystal ball to find out who they have actually signed come the start of next season. While we are at it, we would also take a quick look over to the bench, to check that David Moyes is still manager come September.
Whetever happens in the remainder of the season it’s more than likely that Manchester United will persevere with Moyes for another campaign. If they do then we might well see two youngsters join the squad. Because the latest reports suggest that Manchester United and Moyes are keen on two wonder kids who are currently plying their trade in France.
Talksport says that Manchester United are one of several clubs who fancy taking Marseille winger Florian Thauvin to Old Trafford this summer.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are all tracking the former Lille man, who only moved to the Stade Velodrome in the summer.
He has impressed right away, with six goals and three assists so far in Ligue 1 and scouts across Europe are watching.
Meanwhile, the same source suggests that Manchester United might try to prise midfielder Marco Verratti from mega rich PSG:
Manchester United could revive their interest in Marco Verratti after scouting the Paris Saint-Germain ace earlier this week.
The 21-year-old is in his second campaign at PSG following a transfer from Pescara and has already drawn comparisons to Italy legend Andrea Pirlo due to his range of passing and vision in the middle of the park.
The 21 year old is so highly rated that he has already appeared 4 times for the senior Italian national side, scoring once. He’s and a decent 23 appearances for PSG this season – but chances will always be hard to come by in a squad with that sort of budget and desire to reach the summit of European football in quick time.
These guys wouldn’t come cheap and there is an obvious risk that they could struggle to adapt to a different league. So perhaps they don’t represent an immediate answer to Manchester United’s problems across the midfield line. But let’s see them both in action and let you decide.
