Confirmed teams for Arsenal vs Manchester United – 1945 Kick Off at The Emirates:
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud
Man Utd: De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick, Mata; Rooney, van Persie
Season defining – that’s what this game is for both teams. If Manchester United lose this one and don’t take full points at the weekend then surely it’s time for the board at Manchester United to seriously think about the continued tenure of David Moyes.
If Manchester United win it this could be a springboard for the rest of their campaign. Even though the formation has not been employed much this season, we believe that a 4-2-3-1 would suit Manchester United down to the ground for this one. It would allow Moyes to play his four best outfield players – Mata, Rooney, Januzaj and RvP – while keeping Mata in a more central position. Playing him on the right wing, as Manchester United did at the weekend, is a massive waste of talent. His assist came when he moved inside.
It’s a similarly important game for Arsenal. If they win then the Liverpool defeat is forgotten. Anything less than that and the same old criticisms of Arsenal will start to rear their ugly heads.
You would imagine that a draw would not particularly suit either team so we’re hoping for a really open and entertaining game.
