Lacina Traore has spoken of his joy at signing for one of The Premier League big boys. Speaking to The Liverpool Echo the Ivory Coast striker, who joined Everton loan from Monaco for the rest of the season, seems made up with the move:
“When I first found out that Monaco were going to put me out loan me out I didn’t know what destination it was going to be but as soon as I heard it was the English Premier League I was very, very happy. I am happy to be here at Everton.
The Daily Mail says that Everton may not be finished there:
Everton are showing interest in a loan deal for Marseille’s Tunsian international striker Saber Khalifa.
Khalifa, 27, signed from Evian in the summer and has played 20 matches for Marseille, scoring just one goal.
The player is clearly taking time to adjust to life at Marseille but he has scored goals freely at previous clubs. 17 in 56 at Evian, 20 in 32 at Hammam-Lif and 5 in 24 for his national team Tunisia.
With Romelu Lukaku now apparently only sidelined for a few weeks the immediate need for striking reinforcements is not urgent. But Everton do need to build for the future and if this lad has a good few months at the club they might wish to make the deal permanent in the summer.
It is also worth pointing out that Khalifa can play as a winger or through the middle. This adaptability may be another attractive element in signing the player.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Everton fans do you think this guy would add anything to the squad for the rest of the season?
