Chelsea to go back into the market for two more highly sought after stars in January?

2 more players could join Matic

The cost of signing new midfielder Nemanja Matic will have flummoxed some but few at Chelsea question the wisdom of Jose Mourinho. He may have spent tens of millions more than they sold Matic for in 2001 but that fee would be totally offset by a successful Chelsea team.

Chelsea generally do their business swiftly and quietly and two more players could soon follow Matic into The Bridge.

Sky Sports earlier told us that:

In-demand St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma claims he has been contacted by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

He told L’Equipe on the Chelsea links: “A phone call from Mourinho? It is true, there was contact a month ago.

“I want a change. That is the agreement we have. I am playing my third season in Ligue 1 and it is the right time to go somewhere else.

“Going abroad will be make or break, but that is a risk worth taking.”

Another reported target who may become available in January is Saints full-back Luke Shaw. Until now it was widely thought that the player would remain his current club until the summer at least. But with the latest developments on the south coast The Telegraph says that a deal could be ‘accelerated’.

Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese exit paves way for £20m Luke Shaw transfer as suitors circle St Mary’s

It leaves Chelsea, United and City with an active interest. Those three clubs had all been informed at the start of the transfer window that there was no possibility of Shaw leaving in January and that any deal would wait until the summer. They will now be aware that the situation could be accelerated. Some sources say a deal could even be completed within the next seven days.

As you see, Chelsea won’t have it all their own way with a potential transfer. This guy is wanted by most, if not all, of England’s elite and, at 18, he represents a superb investment.

We think that this one could move pretty quickly.

Let’s see the guy in action. CLICK FOR SHAW
