So things could be warming up in the transfer window for Manchester United. In an interview with German newspaper Bild, published this afternoon, the player talks about his future at Borussia Dortmund (BVB). He said:
BVB wants to extend the contract of the international (2015) early, has already presented him an offer. But Real Madrid and Manchester United have also done that. Both clubs want Gundogan in the summer.
With regards to the player himself, Gundogan says that he could be open to a move.
“I will soon make a decision that will be well considered.” He continued: “It’s still really open.”
The problem remains that a lot of these reports are suggesting that the club will have to wait until the summer to do the actual deal. Gundogan would be a fantastic signing for Manchester United but they need players now. They currently five points behind Liverpool who sit in the last Champions League spot. And with all of the top four on fire right now Manchester United have their work cut out to get back up there.
However Gundogan is a fantastic footballer. He’s got great balance, wonderful passing range and a super engine. He rarely gives the ball away and, although not a prolific scorer, he chips in with a decent number of goals (6 in 57 for Dortmund since he joined the club in 2011 and 2 goals in 8 games for Germany).
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Reds fans, would this guy be top of your wish list for Manchester United signings?
