When you look at Manchester United there are three obvious areas which need improvement. The defence is ageing and a left-back will eventual need to come in. The centre of the midfield looks thin and the addition of Marouane Fellaini has done little to add composure or creativity to the engine room – One feels that Fellaini needs to kick on quickly or he could even be moved on within the year.
The other area which looks underwhelming is out wide. Manchester United are renowned for playing with width and swashbuckling wingers who can beat a man and deliver a beautiful cross.
But, over the last few years, we have seen a deterioration in quality on those wings. Ashley Young and Nani have been expensive failures and Antonio Valencia seems to have been on an 18 month sabbatical from the top form which he enjoyed in 2011.
It is no wonder then that wingers are also regularly linked to Manchester United. One player who has been persistently linked with the club is Argentinian forward Angel di Maria. The 25 year old has found opportunities even more limited since Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in the summer. A Bola has added to the speculation by stating:

In England, however, there is also interest 25 year old. This is the case of Manchester United and Arsenal that under English portal talkSPORT, probed a possible move to reopen the market in January.
There is no doubt that di Maria can perform to a very high level. We wonder, however, whether he can do it consistently enough or whether he is similar to a player like Nani – capable of devastating skill but not able to produce on a regular enough basis to be labelled world-class.
The evidence would point towards him being someone capable of world-class status. He does after all regularly play for Argentina and Real Madrid. With 19 goals in 103 games for club and 9 in 44 for his country, he also contributes a decent amount of goals.
