The big one: Team news and line-ups for Manchester United vs Arsenal

I always look forward to this one in particular. The reason I like Arsenal against Manchester United is because they may not always be the best sides in the league but they are usually the most entertaining and flamboyant to watch.

Neither team ever seems to go out for the 0-0 draw. Although Wenger would actually probably take that result before the match it just doesn’t seem a likely outcome. Both teams have myriad attacking talents at their disposal and it’s usually a question of who can score the most goals.

Arsenal resemble a more settled side than Manchester United at this point in time and Jack Wilshere is the only major injury doubt apart from the longer term crocks, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaby, Sanogo and Podolski. Mathieu Flamini could well recover from a groin injury to make the squad.

Here is our predicted line up:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud

As for Manchester United it does feel as if David Moyes is still trying to find his best team. He keeps chopping and changing the defence and midfield. But we think that, at this point, he has 7 players who he will always pick, when fit, for the big games.

De Gea, Evra, Rafael, Carrick, Januzaj, Rooney, RvP

A fit and firing Vidic and Ferdinand would be included, but Moyes has had to manage them both carefully, as age takes its toll. Still, when fit, they are still the best pairing and we think that they will start on Sunday.

The other questions are who plays alongside Carrick in the middle and on who gets the nod on the right. We still think that Zaha is Manchester United’s best right midfielder but Moyes clearly doesn’t concur and he’s very unlikely to be thrown in at the deep end on Sunday. Valencia is the safe and likely bet.

Many Manchester United fans would really like to see Shinji Kagawa next to Carrick but, again, it’s unlikely to happen. Moyes will either use Fellaini or Cleverley.

So here’s the team that we think Moyes will field (fitness permitting) at Old Trafford for Manchester United on Sunday.

Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Januazaj, Rvp, Rooney
