Everton keen on international forward – report

David who? While Mr.Moyes has had a bumpy start at Manchester United Everton have had a super beginning under new boss Roberto Martinez. We can’t work out whether Everton are actually more attractive under Martinez or whether the Spaniard’s accent in post match interviews simply makes it seem that way.

Attractive or otherwise Everton are winning most of their matches and lie just 4 points off the pace and 4 ahead of Manchester United. Oh the sweet smell of glee that must be scenting the nostrils of the Everton faithful. The majority wished Moyes well after a sterling job at the club but this must feel great.

But football waits for no man. If Everton are going to consolidate their position and kick on they will need to bolster in the coming window. Romelu Lukaku surely won’t be loaned out by Chelsea again. So a striker of real calibre is required. Added to that Everton seem to have been linked with every winger going in the last 6 months.

soccersweep has reported on many of these links, including rumoured interest in Spartak Moscow flyer Aiden McGeady. Well this one has surfaced again over the last day as the coach of the Russian club has publicly admitted that the Irishman can leave this winter.

The Daily Star quotes Spartak’s general director, Roman Askhabadze:

“The club is willing to discuss a new contract for Aiden at any time,” he told a Scottish national newspaper.

“But if we get a good offer this winter, we would be willing to consider it.”

So what do you thin? Would Roberto Martinez be interested in McGeady? Are you, the Everton fans keen? We think he would be a great addition. He’s hard working, precise and has a good final ball. Let’s see him in action.
