Chelsea

The two big signings of the summer?

The games are coming thick and fast for Chelsea at the moment and they are stretching the loyalty of their fans by asking them to buy football tickets to a game every few days.

The fans won’t mind too much of course, as long as their team continues on the right trajectory. It seems that the Manchester United game in the FA Cup was the catalyst for a general upsurge and now they are fighting on three fronts as spring finally attempts to force its way through the snow.

While many believe the revolving doors at Chelsea are detrimental to the success of the club, perhaps this is precisely what makes it so exciting to follow The Blues. It’s the football version of classic American soap Dallas. And, accordingly, who better to bring back into the show than Jose Mourinho. The Special One appears destined to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and, unless Manchester City dispose of Roberto Mancini, Chelsea provides the most obvious route back into the English football for The Portuguese.

Anyone who watched the Champions League tie last night, between Real Madrid and Galatasaray, will have been reminded of how important Didier Drogba was to Mourinho’s success at Chelsea as they shared an emotional embrace at the end of a brilliant game which saw Madrid progress to the semis.

Word on the street is that if Mourinho returns to Chelsea this summer, he has a new talisman in mind. Word is that Mourinho wants to bring Hulk to Stamford Bridge with him. The Brazilian striker, who scored 54 in 99 for Porto before a crazy money move to Zenit, hasn’t fared so well at his new club and could be the first major signing if The Special One returns.

So while Chelsea fans ponder whether they will need to buy FA Cup Final tickets 2013 could end on a huge high regardless of results in May.
