Chelsea

1 signing to bring the title back to Chelsea

It’s been a turbulent few years at Chelsea. Ever since Jose Mourinho left the club they have been up and down like a yo-yo. 2012 provided the perfect illustration of this helter-skelter existence, as they won the Champions League for the first time in their history, then sacked the coach who took them there just a few months later.

Coaches

Rafa Benitez has made a decent fist of a bad situation and Chelsea still have lots to play for this season. And the roster of playing staff looks superb. Wholesale changes aren’t required to make this a title-winning side.

Almost the finished article

As far as we can see there are few chinks in the armour. The defence looks ever more convincing, with David Luiz beginning to justify the price tag. And, if you saw the FA Cup replay against Manchester United last weekend, then you will know that this new look attacking midfield trio is awesome – the way that Mata, Hazard and Oscar counter-attacked and got the ball forward was at times sensational.

Chelsea do need stability at the helm. But beyond that they simply need a prolific striker. Someone to convert the plethora of chances that the creators in the team will provide. Chelsea fans retain hope that Fernando Torres will come good and Demba Ba is an impressive squad player.

The icing on the cake

But Chelsea will look for a superstar forward to lead the line and score 30 plus goals next season. Radamel Falcao is surely that man. Noone else in Europe carries quite the same goal threat and his style of play seems so suited to Chelsea. He’s quick, mobile, intelligent and ruthless from any angle. At 27, he’s about to enter his golden period and would surely love to play in front of the sublime talents of Mata, Hazard and Oscar. What a team they could be.

Chelsea aren’t afraid to spend big but they should avoid making a plan b this summer and push the boat out for Radamel Falcao.

I think Chelsea needs a superstar striker like it has been said. But for now we’ve to rely on strikers we’ve even though they are abit inconsistent…..Our attacking midfielders are doing a great job and we’ve seen most goals coming from them than from strikers. In that case, if they be partnered to an inteligent striker like RF we’ll see a more advanced Chelsea.
