Reported Arsenal target Adam Maher has responded to speculation linking him with a move abroad by stating that he will be leaving his club AZ Alkmaar at the end of the season – but not for The Gunners.
“In the summer I expect there will be a realistic bid. It is certain that I will be leaving.”
But he also told talksport that he would not be prepared to leave Holland at this stage of his career.
“I have already said that I do not want to go. I want a good stay in the Netherlands, at least another two to three years – I am only 19.”
The Dutch Moroccan, just 19, has earned caps at every level for Holland including 2 for the full international side. He was even named in the provisional squad for Holland for EURO 2012 but he didn’t make the final cut.
At club level, he’s already played 53 times in the Eredivise, with an encouraging tally of 10 goals and 8 assists.
