Ashley Cole’s future at Chelsea has been the subject of relentless speculation over the last few months and the most recently reported suitors for his signature are PSG. Wherever Cole gets his last big pay day he can’t play down Chelsea’s left for ever. Just like Patrice Evra at Manchester United, a previously cemented spot in the team is soon to be up for grabs. Replacing players of this quality is never going to be easy and it usually takes a couple of attempts.
The Daily Mail reports, with ever less evidence to substantiate their claims, that both Manchester United and Chelsea are eyeing up Lille’s France youth international left back Lucas Digne.
According to the royalist rag scouts from Chelsea and Manchester United were at Lille’s game aginst Rennes last week to see the lightning lad in action. Whether or not he is seen as an immediate solution Chelsea’s left flank is debatable, but he does look like an assured player even at his tender age.
