Chelsea to get star man in Jan?

All summer Chelsea fans waited with bated breath as the search for a striker reached fever pitch. The main reported targets were Hulk and Edinson Cavani but, for reasons relating largely to cash, deals couldn’t be struck.

Another striker who has retained the long term interest of Roman Abramovich is Atletico Madrid’s number 9 Radamel Falcao Garcia.

After the performance he gave against Chelsea in the European Super Cup, in which he scored a hauntingly good hat trick, he must surely have muscled his way to the top of the Stamford Bridge wanted list.

Indeed, his father and agent recently alluded to interest from The Premier League whilst also confirming that the Columbian striker wanted to ply his trade in England.

With the recent emergence of other uber rich clubs in Russia, France and Manchester, Chelsea no longer have it all their own way in the transfer market. An auction between these 4 clubs could get out of hand if they all wanted a particular player. But many foreign players coming to England want to live in London and this is where Chelsea have the advantage. Manchester City are always on the prowl for strikers but the official line is that they need to offload front men before they can invest again. Conversely, and despite Chelsea already having a stupendously talented squad, the Blues only have Daniel Sturridge and Fernando Torres as recognised senior strikers.

Of Falcao’s quality there is no debate. After his recent displays he has alerted the whole footballing world. But Chelsea could very well be his next club, even as early as January.

Intresting theory on this article especially as we are in need of strikers in case we end up like UTD (Rooney & RVP) with injuries. however wouldnt he be on the bench by then for the champions league. TO LITTLE TO LATE.

the painful thing is that when falcao slip out of chelsea, just like cavani and it can happen, when di matteo and abramovish is unserous again, just like schurt, they wanted to sign , in dead line day.
Di matteo and abramovish ensured and do every means that falcao comes to stamford bridge, b/c i trully believe, that with falcao, chelsea will become threat to rivers.

I get that Falcao is a top top striker and would do a lot of damage in the premierleague however with the formation we play with 1 up front either he or torres will be on the bench which will eventually cause unrest so if we look to sign him I could only see it working if torres went the other way.
To be honest i’d rather see sturridge get a real go for us upfront then just buy another superstar, we already have talent at the bridge but are not using all of it.
