Various reports today suggest that Brendan Rodgers will attempt to make Adam Johnson one of his first signings for the club.
Many Liverpool fans might instinctively feel that Johnson is too similar to the arguably underwhelming Stewart Downing, who turned up at Anfield last year for a mammoth £20m.
But, soccersweep feels that Johnson is a very underrated player who would certainly be in the Euro 2012 squad had he played more games for Manchester City last season. Roberto Mancini regularly claimed last season that Johnson had the requisite talent to be a top player but lacked the discipline to cement his place in the first eleven at City.
While his defensive instincts may be questionable, there is an explosive inventiveness, versatility and confident swagger about this player that would make him an asset to any club in the league. He has an excellent delivery but also loves to cut in and cause havoc in the heart of the opposition defence. Despite City’s squad of myriad talent, we are still surprised that he only made 16 starts last season for his club. He’s better than that and Liverpool could surely use his quality in the wide areas.
So, Liverpool fans, is Johnson a player that would excite you?

Unquestionably yes. City don’t even view Liverpool as a threat any more so it is a possibility that we could get Adam Johnson. Liverpool has a high profile as a club and to further his England chances he would want to be at a club that would give him the profile.

Adam Johson is good players LFC can buying but i think Downing,Henderson,Adam and Maxi must be release first.They always with uncertain performance and very worst to keep them.Also Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani they sure not fit and suit with LFC system of game.This 5 players cannot making many assist to striker and fail to give good crossing the ball.Dribble fail,but lazy to do tackle. Some times lazy to hijack back the ball when they lost.Joe Cole and Adam very like to making silly mistakes and award penalty to opponent team.
