Pep Guardiola is due to hold a press conference at 1100 BST in which he will apparently confirm that he no longer wishes to coach Barcelona beyond this season.
This may mean that he wants to take a sabbatical from the game but speculation is rife that Roman wants him at the Bridge. Neil Warnock has been on the radio station Talk Sport this morning, alluding to that very idea and suggesting that Abramovich has wanted the Spanish tactician for a long time.
The main question, after the unbelievable form of the team in the last few months, is do you Chelsea fans actually want Guardiola or are you happy with the incumbent, Roberto Di Matteo?
You can hardly tell them apart anyway and RDM seems to have exactly the right management style for this team. The coach has huge respect because he is a Chelsea legend and there appears to be a perfect understanding between him and the players. They respect his opinions but he also seems to appreciate theirs. Stamford Bridge seems happier now than it has been for years.
So why bother changing? Personally, I think that Roberto should be given a chance to continue the excellent work that he has started. But what do you Chelsea fans think?
