As reported by soccersweep a month ago, Manchester United are apparently hot on the heels of Lille playmaker Eden Hazard. Regarded as pretty much THE hottest property in Europe, at 21, Hazard fits the bill perfectly for Old Trafford. He’s young, gifted, quick, two footed and scores amazing goals from midfield.

Only two days ago Hazard suggested that he is open to a move to Manchester United. If this is the case, Sir Alex Ferguson has to go and get him, whatever the price. Too many players have slipped through the net in recent times. Benzema, Villa, Ozil, Bale and Nasri are just a few that United have been interested in but not, ultimately, won the race for. Other clubs have offered more to get their men.
This time, Manchester United can’t mess about. Most of the top clubs in Europe are after him and rightly so. He has god given talent and, coached correctly, he could become the very best one day. The moment he expressed a fondness for United Fergie should have been back on the plane to personally finalise a pre-contract. Because, buying this guy isn’t a gamble. It’s a necessity if United are to stay in within the elite of European football.
If Zinedine Zidane would ‘sign him with my eyes closed‘ you know he is something special.
United have missed out on the top stars too often of late and this one cannot be allowed to get away. It would also send the perfect message to fans who are concerned, because of monumental interest payments, that United no longer have the resources to invest in the cream of world football talent.
