Sensational news this. It comes from The Independent who state, with real confidence, that Jose Mourinho has written a six page letter to the people in power at Manchester United to state that he wants the job as manager of the club.
Ex-Chelsea manager pens six-page love letter to United to claim ‘I can change’
In his letter he reportedly stated that he feels he can adapt to Manchester United’s principles and also gave a ‘forensic analysis’ of the problems with the current team.
Mourinho has been out of work since his famous sacking from Chelsea after terrible results which possibly stemmed from a spat with his medical team at the start of the season.
But he has had some time out and has clearly thought long and hard about his choices.
He is an intelligent man and may well have decided to tweak his approach to management.
With Manchester United losing at home again on Saturday with yet another shocking performance, surely it’s time for a change.
Manchester United are now five points of the Champions League pace, 10 off the summit and it’s difficult to remember them ever playing this badly.

I’d like to say that the situation could not possibly get any worse and the only way from here is up, but I can’t even say that anymore, because I don’t believe it. 250 million pounds of world class talent have been transformed into a rabble of league one players (no disrespect to league one players) by a system that patently does not work at our club. Buying more world class players will not help us as they in turn will be transformed into mush and mediocrity by this god awful system. The decision is simple, retain LVG and slide into a vat of mediocrity never to be seen again or show some bottle and oust him in favour of someone who has at least some idea of the “Manchester United way”. I’m a fifty year veteran supporter and I’ve never seen it as bad as this. It was bad when we were relegated to the old 2nd Division but I don’t recall it being this bad. If we lost back then, at least we went down fighting, at least we could still score goals. If we are going to lose a game I’d rather lose 4-3 than go eleven games without scoring in the first half AT HOME…… I’d better go and lay down for a bit……………
