MAURICIO POCHETTINO has Tottenham sweating over his delay in signing a bumper new contract.
Spurs are becoming increasingly concerned that the Argentinian will become Manchester United’s first choice to replace Louis van Gaal after French giants Paris St Germain joined the hunt for Jose Mourinho.
United have discussed terms with Mourinho’s representatives but are still to come up with a written offer despite the former Chelsea boss having now been linked with Old Trafford for several months.
Title-chasing Tottenham have also been waiting a while now for Pochettino to put pen to paper on a five-year contract extension worth £5million a year plus bonuses.
The Spurs manager, who still has more than three years to run on the deal he signed in 2014, said recently he wants to stay at White Hart Lane but the longer he delays signing, the more anxious Tottenham will become.
The Sun reports: “Club chiefs believe Pochettino, 44, is likely to sign his contract but the wait is making them edgy.
“They want to get their highly-rated manager’s future tied down as soon as possible, with Barcelona another potential suitor.
“Poch is also being tipped to coach Real Madrid in the future after transforming Tottenham from Europa League regulars to Premier League contenders in under two seasons.”
Little wonder United have taken a strong interest in Pochettino.
The way in which he’s been able to bring on and develop Spurs youngsters in his time there, together with the attractive and highly successful style of football he has the north London outfit playing make him ideal for United.
Could it be that Pochettino is holding off and waiting to see whether the Red Devils will be playing Champions League football next season?

How many more times, Poch doesn’t have any representatives and this story is as old as the hills. He has already stated in an interview, that he does all his own contract negotiations and that is why he’s waiting until the season is over so he can sit down with the chairman and discuss things properly without any other distractions. That’s why there has been no offer, because absolutely no one outside of Spurs have spoken to him. He has also stated that he doesn’t want to manage another premier league club and is very happy at Spurs along with his back room staff, total rubbish article by hack journalists looking for a cheap story.

Yawn! This boring crap again?
He doesnt need to rush to sign a new deal, he still has 3 years on his current contract, so I doubt THFC are ‘concerned’ about it.
And YTF would Levy deal with ManU? It’s not like ManU click and everyone else jumps. ManU are done. They are average at best. Get over it!
