Well this one is very exciting indeed. Manchester United need to address their midfield but they also need to sort out their left-side as a matter of priority.
The media today reckons that Manchester United’s top target for the defence, Luke Shaw, is open to a move to Manchester United if all parties can agree a deal this summer.
The Daily Mail reports:
Sportsmail understands that Shaw is attracted by the promise of regular first-team football at United and has told the Old Trafford club he will make the switch if they can agree terms with Southampton.
Meanwhile The Telegraph says:
Manchester United are aiming to secure a £30 million deal for Southampton defender Luke Shaw before the World Cup after moving ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign the teenager.
Shaw is understood to be concerned by a possible lack of regular football at Stamford Bridge due to the impressive form of César Azpilicueta and with Ashley Cole expected to sign a one-year contract extension to remain at the club.
Shaw has been a massive player for Southampton this season playing 34 times for the club in a breakthrough season of real promise. He also made his debut for England and we would be highly surprised if he isn’t on the plane to Brazil this June. It’s been widely reported that Shaw is a fan of Chelsea but a wave of speculation today suggests that he may now rock up at Old Trafford. He’s now odds on favourites to join Manchester United at 1/3 with bookie SkyBet.
Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans – the dream start to the summer transfers if it comes off?
