Manchester United: Done deal? Legend implies that agreement is close

Deal inching closer

There’s been a huge amount of speculation over the last week about David Moyes’s successor at Manchester United.

Without any official word from either party the rumour mills have gone into overdrive about Louis van Gaal taking the job.

The 62-year-old Holland manager is a free man after The World Cup and is reportedly keen to take the reigns at Manchester United.

Tellingly Manchester United legend Edwin van der Saar spoke about van Gaal and Manchester United this week. His words suggest that he has inside information on the deal and that it could just be a matter of time before it’s done.

As well as offering reassuring words for Manchester United fans about the quality of van Gaal he suggests that it’s a question of when not if van Gaal becomes Manchester United manager.

“I will say more about Louis and United once his appointment is official

“But I have made it clear here before that Louis van Gaal is the best manager I have ever played for.”

There has been a clamour for Ryan Giggs to take over as full-time manager of Manchester United but many believe that an experienced hand is needed during difficult times at Old Trafford.

The major problem in appointing van Gaal is that he might have little to no time to prepare his transfer list for next season. Being fully occupied by The World Cup he would limited time to communicate with potential transfers or negotiate deals.

Nevertheless it does look increasingly likely that the Dutchman will become the manager of Manchester United after The World Cup.

Manchester United fans is van Gaal the man for the job or would you rather Ryan Giggs to continue at the helm?

Giggs is not ready, does not have the experience. Going for a manager without the required qualifications has cost United dearly this season. The board made a mistake and they won’t makke the same mistake again!

It good that everybody is saying LVG there is no doubt about his credibility. His record speak for him and not forgetting he is a detator. We do not need a detator @ ManU. We are talking about ManU not netherlands national team. LVG is saying he would bring his own backroom staff. I want the board of ManU to tell if Giggs will not be his assistance then there is no deal. He knows the in-and-out of ManU. He is our future manager. I forsee a dressing room unrest @ ManU why cos a paper reported that he is trying to make van the captain. How? How many seasons did van put on ManU jersey let alone to be a captain. ManU should watch out and sit down with LVG and lay down there objectives. We need Giggs,Nicky,Schosy and Phil to be very inflential and with all these things in place we can comeback stongly. Giggs can even do the work when giving just first season(coming) and access him base on his performance. Everyone talking about pressure, which pressure? If you lose a big game as a player,is the same pressure you feel as a manager. There is no difference. Give Giggsy and co the chance. I know they will deliver. United Forever.

No one except class of 92 knows the philosophy of utd well given LVG doesnt have epl experience so he will take a couple of season. The best solution is to bite the bullet and build an empire with the lads than giving an old guy who we dont know if he will fare well in wolrd cup and will not last in mgt for a long time.
