Top player reportedly signs

So, after all the posturing and will he won’t he of the last few months, it appears that Manchester United have been successful in their pursuit of one of their major summer targets – midfield maestro Toni Kroos.

The Daily Mail reports:

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos and are set to make a stunning move for his team-mate Arjen Robben.

A £20million deal for Kroos was agreed when David Moyes was still in charge at Old Trafford and his successor, former Bayern coach Louis van Gaal, has said the move can go ahead.

Kroos, 24, flourished under Van Gaal at Bayern and is keen to work under his old coach again.

Kroos has been the subject of much interest from Manchester United with David Moyes also understood to be an admirer of the Bayern midfielder who can play in number of roles.

At 24 he’s already turned out 42 times for a Germany side enjoying a golden generation. He’s a top class player. He also knows where the goal is and Manchester United can expect to see some stunning strikes from the new hub of their midfield.

The report goes on to say that Arjen Robben could be next up for Manchester United:

The 30-year-old winger has recently signed a three-year deal but that is unlikely to discourage Holland coach Van Gaal, who will be working with Robben at the World Cup.

With the Luke Shaw deal reportedly ongoing Manchester United’s summer transfer strategy seems to be taking shape.

Let’s have a look at Kroos in action. Manchester United fans: What’s not to like about this guy?
