Chelsea have ‘first option’ on sensational forward

You pretty much know what you are going to get with Jose at Chelsea. He will buy you loads of man mountains for the defensive areas to shut up shop at the back.

Then he will add a big front man to hold up play and bang in the goals. Finally – and this is the exciting bit – he will sprinkle the team with pacey forwards who love a trick and score you great goals coming from the slightly wider areas. As long as they remember to track back and help their full backs out then they can pretty much do whatever else they like.

One such player from this latter category has been linked to Chelsea more than once over the last few months. The Daily Mail reckons that Chelsea have secured a first option on the lad:

They were interested in landing Markovic last summer before the midfielder moved to Portugal. The strong relationship with Benfica, and a desire to be kept in the loop, saw Chelsea strike a deal with the buying club that secured a first option.

That is of course Lazar Markovic, the 20 year old winger, who is making a huge name for himself at Benfica. Chelsea would have watched Benfica’s game against Tottenham in the week with interest as the young Serbian international played in the number ten position that night. He’s a modern forward who can fit in comfortably anywhere across the front line and already has 7 goals in 31 games for his new club.

He’s already represented the national team ten times scoring two gaols in a successful introduction to this level.
He really does look like a top player in the making. Perhaps the Eden Hazard of the opposite wing in the Chelsea team of the not too distant future.

Let’s see him in action. Chelsea fans, do you need any more pacey wingers?
