Report: Liverpool want Dennis Aogo

At 26 he also has a creditable 12 caps for the German national side

You’d have to say Liverpool are fairly well set up front right now. If they need to add to their squad the priority would probably be another central midfielder and potentially another full back.

If they can get someone who could do both they could be laughing all the way to Champions League football next season.

German newspaper Bild reports that Liverpool might have found one. The Schalke midfielder Dennis Aogo is on loan from Hamburg where he rattled off 131 appearances. At 26, he also has a creditable 12 caps for the German national side who, lest we forget, is enjoying something of a golden era right now, with an embarrassment of riches in the midfield area.

Bild says (via dodgy Google translation):

Because new prospects suddenly appear for the all-rounder (can also play in midfield) on. After image information, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool FC and AS Roma have the Hamburger on the shopping list, watching him for weeks.

Basically this means that Liverpool are reportedly keen. He looks like a really solid player who is in his pomp right now. He could probably be signed for less than 10 million quid and could well add solidity.

Let’s have a look at him in action. Liverpool fans do you need more mid-priced players like this or should you be looking for one or two stellar signings to add fairy dust to an already very good squad?
