Liverpool linked with ‘1 in 2’ striker

Liverpool may well be at the head of the queue for this striker

It’s not yet January but it might as well be considering the amount of transfer speculation already flying about.

As a team in the ascendancy Liverpool are central to all the transfer speculation. Many a media outlet reckons that Liverpool will be a big spender during the winter window.

One area where the team is particularly strong is in attack. But we all know that the serial winners of The Premier League usually have three or four really top strikers in their squad. Liverpool currently have two.

So the Guardian reckons today that Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are in for Porto striker Jackson Martinez. The player is supposedly agitating for a move and Liverpool may well be at the head of the queue for the 27-year-old.

The Guardian says:

Jackson Martínez is looking for a way out of Porto, with the usual suspects, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, all sniffing about. The 27-year-old Colombian striker wants to leave before his best years are past him.

One thing that you have to say about this lad is that he knows where the goal is. He has scored buckets of goals where ever he has played. Notably, he has 34 in 40 appearances for Porto. He has also scored eight goals in 23 appearances for the Colombian national side.

Let’s have a look at this guy in action. We think he’d be an absolute gem of a signing for Liverpool.
