Tottenham have seen a bid rejected for Ryan Sessegnon

Tottenham have had a £25million bid for Ryan Sessegnon rejected by Fulham, reports the Telegraph.

The left-back only signed a new deal earlier this summer, which the Championship outfit hoped would put an end to speculation linking him with a move away from Craven Cottage.

The 17-year-old is crucial to Fulham’s plans for promotion after a phenomenal debut season last term, in which he scored five goals and recorded three assists.

It’s particularly intriguing that Spurs have reportedly made an offer less than a week after Danny Rose cast doubt on his future. At present, Rose’s knee injury is keeping him sidelined and Ben Davies is filling in.

The Welshman got himself on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win over Newcastle and has improved tremendously since January.

However, the club’s interest in Sessegnon would suggest Davies could become first choice with the teenager as a back-up, allowing Rose to pursue a move elsewhere in light of comments he made about Spurs’ wages and transfer policy in the Sun.
