David Luiz was already fondly remembered in the Premier League for some of his more eccentric moments at Chelsea.
Now, Blues fans are readying themselves to experience his antics all over again, with the defender sensationally re-signing for the club from Paris Saint-Germain.
On paper, that might seem like an odd move; while English football is more highly-rated than the French league, PSG are Ligue 1 champions – and have yet another Champions League campaign to look for.
Chelsea, on the other hand, came tenth last season and have no European football whatsoever to offer.
Still, Luiz has revealed he had good reason to swap the Parc des Princes for Stamford Bridge. In a quote via the Daily Star, the Brazilian maverick joked he had “wasted two years at PSG”.
“It’s like playing FIFA on beginner level,” he added.
The Premier League should be a bit more testing, though so far, Chelsea are making light work of it under Antonio Conte.
The Blues have secured maximum points from their first three games and with Luiz at the back, there’s no reason why they won’t be serious challengers again this season.
