Latest reports suggest that Arsenal have made an unusually quick start to the transfer window by conducting a successful medical for the talented young defensive midfielder Mohammed Elneny.
The Daily Star writes:
MOHAMED ELNENY has passed a medical ahead of his proposed transfer to Arsenal.
There is a flip side here. The same report states that Arsenal may have issues with the work permit for the Egyptian youngster, which could hold up the £7m move – transfers are seldom straightforward at Arsenal are they?
The FA have recently cracked down on non-EU transfers by limiting automatic work permits to countries who are ranked in the top 50 international teams in the world. Egypt are currently ranked 57th which will make it more difficult to obtain a permit for the 23 year old.
But Elneny has already played 39 times for Egypt in his short career so we do expect Arsenal to get this one over the line in the next few days.
With so many injuries in the midfield this signing could prove crucial to Arsenal’s title push.
Let’s see Elneny in action.
