Reus: Special

Sublime

There has been all sorts of bluster in the tabloids over the last few days about Marco Reus to Arsenal.

He may not immediately seem like the perfect fit for a team that has such a wealth of wide men in the squad.

But we have already said that, when a player of this level potentially becomes available, any top team should take an interest.

Because this is a modern, goal scoring wide man of the highest order.

What’s more, the Germany international can play in various positions and he is so talented that it is sometimes difficult to discern which is his stronger peg.

He’s scored 99 goals in 272 club games in Germany. But most of his goals have come in his last 100 or so games for Dortmund where he has hit 53 in 119 games.

He also has a remarkable 9 goals in 25 games for the German international side, where he does start as a winger.

He’d be a great number ten but we would put him out wide where he can offer great service to a number 9 and also cut in off either foot and hit his spellbinding rockets which regularly end up in the back of the net.

So here is the eleven that we would put out if Arsenal were to do the deal of the summer and get Reus to The Emirates.
