Liverpool are becoming increasingly interested in making a summer move for Keylor Navas, as the Real Madrid goalkeeper’s representatives begin searching for his next club.
Diario Gol have it that the Costa Rican has grown frustrated at the speculation surrounding his future, fuelled by the fact that club president Florentino Perez has never been particularly keen on him.
It has been a point of contention between Perez and Zinedine Zidane, with the Los Blancos manager happy with his stopper’s performances.
The same cannot be said of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds boss has rotated between Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, largely favouring the former this season.
However, neither number one has been impressive and Mignolet came under fire again in the recent 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
It could be difficult to tempt Navas to Merseyside, even if Real signal their intent to replace him with either Manchester United’s David De Gea or Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
He is reportedly concerned by the climate in England, per the same source, and it’s far from certain that Liverpool will even make the top four on current form.
