Barcelona were scouting three players during Real Madrid vs Spurs

Tottenham have put themselves in a comfortable position to qualify from Group H after drawing 1-1 with Real Madrid in the Bernabeu.

A Raphael Varane own goal handed the visitors a shock 1-0 lead before Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty – following some more reckless defending from Serge Aurier – pegged them back.

All eyes were on how Harry Kane would fare against the European champions and the striker, linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world – certainly didn’t look out of place.

According to Catalan publication Sport, it was actually Barcelona, not Real, who were using the opportunity to monitor Spurs players, though Kane was not among the trio of interest.

Blaugrana sporting director Robert Fernandez was present to watch Christian Eriksen, who Barca view as a potential alternative to Philippe Coutinho with Liverpool refusing to sell. The Dane did not enjoy his finest performance, bar one brilliant moment of skill against Isco.

Fernandez also had one eye on Davinson Sanchez. The centre-back has been getting to grips with the Premier League after his move from Ajax in the summer, but still only 21, the Colombian is a potential future prospect. Indeed, Barcelona initially tried to scout him before he moved to the Eredivisie.

The third Spurs star Barca are interested in was not on show in the Spanish capital; Dele Alli travelled with the squad but had to sit out through suspension.
