Arsenal have decided Jack Wilshere’s future after u23 red card

Jack Wilshere has denied that his sending off in Arsenal’s under-23 match against Manchester City was a new low, but it’s hard to think of many more disappointing moments in his career.

The midfielder has been tipped for big things since lighting up the Nou Camp as a teenager. However, injuries have taken their toll and after failing to impress on loan at Bournemouth last season, he has been told he can leave the Emirates.

In the mean time, while he recovers from a broken leg suffered in the Cherries’ 4-0 defeat to Tottenham last term, he has been playing with the under-23s.

After completely losing his cool in their most recent outing, he has held talks with Arsene Wenger over whether there is any future for him in north London.

According to the Mirror, and no doubt to the surprise of many, the England international has been told he can stay and fight for his place if he wishes.

Arsenal’s participation in the Europa League means there should be plenty of opportunities for squad players to impress this season, particularly as the competition is unlikely to be one of Wenger’s top priorities.

Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Swansea have all expressed an interest in taking the 25-year-old on.
