Robbie Keane is on the verge of joining his 11th club.
The Republic of Ireland’s all-time leading goalscorer was one of a number of big names to leave LA Galaxy last year and has been a free agent since then.
The Sun report he is now set to link up with Indian outfit Atletico de Kolkata – we’re none the wiser either – after holding talks last week.
The legendary striker has scored almost 250 league goals in his career across spells with Wolves, Leeds, Spurs, and Liverpool.
The 37-year-old has been lured to the sub-continent by another former Tottenham star and manager of Kolkata, Teddy Sheringham, though the pair only played together briefly at White Hart Lane.
Keane has also attracted interest from Championship clubs in England, notably Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City, though few of them would have been able to guarantee him regular playing time. As the regular Indian Super League season consists of just 14 games, it will be far less strenuous a challenge if a deal gets over the line.
