Arsenal

Another Premier League club has entered the race for Thomas Lemar

Arsenal now face serious competition for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

Despite the Ligue 1 champions’ stance that he isn’t for sale, French publication Le10 Sport claim that Liverpool are now considering a bid.

Jurgen Klopp is doing his best to keep Philippe Coutinho out of Barcelona’s clutches, but he is having to make contingency plans in case the Brazilian does leave this summer.

Likewise at Arsenal, Lemar could serve as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

However, if either club is to be successful, they will have to improve upon Arsenal’s most recent bid of €50million, which was knocked back by Monaco.

As it stands, Liverpool already have a blistering attack going into the new season. Klopp handed starts to Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino in the 3-0 friendly win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, with Daniel Sturridge also contributing a goal before injuring himself in the process.

It remains to be seen how the Coutinho saga will unfold. If he does leave Anfield, it could spell trouble for Arsenal, as Liverpool would then enter the race for their number one target.
