Alexis Sanchez has officially entered the final year of his contract with Arsenal.
The Gunners are reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival as Manchester City continue to hover, so the Chilean’s future remains uncertain.
According to OK Diario, agent Fernando Felicevic has been taking matters into his own hands by offering Sanchez around. It’s claimed he offered the forward to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos declined.
Given the starring role the 28-year-old played for Arsenal last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions, it’s hard to imagine many clubs turning him down.
However, Real were reportedly not interested because firstly, there’s no room for him in an attack consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale. Zinedine Zidane’s other concern is about Sanchez’s personality.
The forward acted out several times last term, showing his frustration after the 3-3 draw with Bournemouth by throwing his gloves on the pitch. And in the 4-0 win over Swansea, he reacted furiously to being taken off by Arsene Wenger.
That doesn’t seem to have worked in his favour, as although he’s made it clear he’s unhappy at the Emirates, his behaviour has the potential to deter potential suitors. Wenger still hopes to win him around and it’s still possible Arsenal will force him to run down his contract.
