It’s fair to say Arsene Wenger’s decision to stay at Arsenal for another two years has not been met with universal enthusiasm among the club’s supporters.
Last season’s sixth-placed finish was the lowest of the Wenger era, and it means the Gunners will be playing Europa League football next term.
Le Professeur endured ridiculous levels of abuse throughout the campaign, but he will still be confident of winning the fans round.
Wenger is already set to pull off one huge coup this summer. Le Parisien claim it was his pitch to Alexandre Lacazette that convinced the Lyon striker to move to north London, which he is expected to do in the coming days.
The French international originally hoped to join Atletico Madrid, which is not a realistic option anyway because their transfer embargo means players they sign will not be able to appear for them until January 2018.
That was not the only factor in his decision though, as he reportedly believes that for as long as Wenger is in charge at the Emirates, it will be the perfect club for him.
